A Chicago native and critic collects her essays about theater, books, music, art, architecture, and her beloved Chicago. Nancy S. Bishop is editor and publisher and chief theater critic for Third Coast Review.

Nancy S. Bishop is a Chicago native, writer and theater critic. She loves to write about all things Chicago, especially theater, books, music, art and architecture. Nancy is a member of the American Theatre Critics Association and a 2014 Fellow of the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. She is co-founder, editor and publisher of Third Coast Review, an online Chicago-centric arts and culture magazine. She publishes about 200 reviews and articles a year.

Nancy grew up on the far northwest side of Chicago and except for ventures into Missouri, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and Kentucky, she has been a Chicago girl for most of her life. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a Master of Arts in communications from Northern Illinois University. She has two sons and four grandsons.
