CityLab Spotlights the City Anthology Series

“I think it’s important for these writers to say, ‘Look, your creativity, your writing, your research, your journalism, matters just as much in Pittsburgh as it does in New York and D.C." Anne Trubek

Our City Anthology Series aims to highlight diverse voices from Rust Belt cities, giving readers "an opportunity to find stories and perspectives from their place, in which they may recognize themselves." In this article, CityLab's Alastair Boone and Kriston Capps chose some of their favorite essays from the series, including Aaron Foley's complicated love letter to Detroit, the story of an anarchic picnic at Flint's Peace Mob Garden, and Cleveland's own superhero comic.
