Mark Athitakis is a journalist and critic whose work has appeared in the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and many other publications. He has served on the board of the National Book Critics Circle and been a judge for the Kirkus Prize. His Belt Publishing book, The New Midwest, won the 2018 Books on the Banks prize for best adult nonfiction title. He lives in Arizona, where he is researching a book about Frank Lloyd Wright.
